Moving Softly
by Vidushi Rijuta
I am reading poems under an ash sky.
It is bleak-coloured, but my hair is
blue to compensate.
Someone is playing cello in the grass.
Their music moves through the air like jam.
It's not a very big day.
There will be more coffee.
If the frangipanis miss the music,
the floodlights will dance for them.
I will shell more words on a screen.
I will feed myself.
We'll all be okay.
