I love walking through a city
seeing the torpor appear on women’s faces
a livedness mapping its dominion
incrementally witnessing life
because it’s good for things to see life
we as people get enough of it
it’s good to share in it
with things
like creases on the cheek
and greying hair
and family heirlooms
and tubes of toothpaste
and over-the-counter drugs
it’s good to share
