The Pony

by Ilia Dolgov

I tell my students there is a veil
borderlinking symbols
and bodies and it’s never
to be crossed except through smuggling.

They don’t trust me since I do not provide a relatable real life example.

I write in my proposal
it requires a mystery for bodies and symbols
to meet to engender the double-forked flame
which is desire which is me.

I do not believe myself all of my examples are from books.

Also I do not believe that you all talk to me when
my name
is pronounced in the American way with its springy heart of Й being lost

in the flat waterfallless river of ilia.

That until, until you keep repeating

fuck
ilia
when you ride my butt for the first time as
the cutest pony should be ridden.

At last, I hear my name and I hear myself
I know how symbols and bodies meet
you fucked the mistery into me
you gave me a real life example.

I will become a better teacher now
a better scholar
and the sweetest little pony for you to ride.
