Two Poems

Love Poem & For God and Country

by Carson Jordan

Love Poem

every night in the bed of pigs

perfect is not always beautiful

to be in love is to be grateless

hearts are broken, all faiths cemetery,

bridge of a foot, a baby who breaks things

acquiesces to his back, my leg of mutton

it becomes will they won’t they

forever and this

fixes lonely

no one gets out alive

we like it like that

For God and Country

we are driving

to our lady

of lourdes

speak now

or forever

hold your pee
